DOUGLAS TRONSGARD
CEO
Douglas Tronsgard is the CEO and Co-Founder of Next Level Games Inc. (NLG), a Vancouver video game third-party development company. Hailing from the financial sector, Douglas joined the gaming ranks as a Producer at Black Box Games in 1999. Three years later NLG was formed. In the next four years the company went on to release two titles and become the first studio outside Japan to be trusted with the Mario franchise and one of the rare North American companies to work directly with Nintendo of Japan.
Next Level Games has been honoured with several awards including the Best Company to Work For in British Columbia, Canada’s Top 100 Employers and two nods for Excellence and Innovation from WorkLife BC. In 2007, Tronsgard was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and named one of British Columbia’s Top 40 Under 40 by Business in Vancouver, which recognizes outstanding achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, community involvement and a contribution to driving BC’s economy forward.
Douglas holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia and a Specialized Honors degree in Economics from York University.
